IFT First 2022!
The SPI Group team was so happy to be at IFT FIRST in Chicago this summer!
It was refreshing to join food professionals from around the world —the first in-person IFT event and expo since 2019. We especially appreciated the chance to network with and learn from experts and innovators throughout the food system. The room was filled with energy during the keynote debate around the topic of processed foods. The question: “Should we eat more processed foods?” The NASA Panel during the second day keynote featured teams sharing how they are leveraging technology to better understand food from a societal, cultural, and physiological perspective. All of us really enjoyed the start-up Pavillon, visiting the up and coming companies. We appreciated a lot of focus and conversation around up cycling and reduction of food waste.
The most exciting place to be is always the Expo Floor! We enjoyed tastings at the Ohly booth, where our customers tasted travel inspired Chicken Makhani Chip, containing OHLY® SAV-R-MEAT PBD, our new authentic and powerful yeast based chicken flavor. Alongside this, the street food flavors of Vegan Lamb Arayes was delicious, with it’s crunchy pita with a vegan friendly filling containing OHLY® SAV-R-FULL.
Our partner ProSur had a nice booth featuring game-changing natural ingredient solutions with focus on shelf life extension, pathogen intervention, preservation without nitrites, and clear label. We also spent time at the Saltwell booth, discussing sodium reduction and improving taste with a sea salt that is naturally low in sodium.
