The USDA and the HHS are currently in the public comment period for the new 2020 Dietary Guidelines. The public comment period will close on June 1, 2020. The goal is to have the new Dietary Guidelines released by the end of 2020.

Until then, the current Dietary Guidelines have the following daily goals for sodium and potassium:

For ages 14 – 51+: 2,300 mg sodium and 4,700 mg potassium.

For ages 9 -13 years:  2,200 mg sodium and 4,500 mg potassium

For ages 4-8 years:  1,900 mg sodium, 3,800 mg potassium

For ages 1-3 years: 1,500 mg sodium, 3,000 mg potassium

Labeling of Potassium in the Nutritional panel became mandatory in the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.  Following is a link to the FDA sample Nutritional Panel with explanations:

SPI Group continues doing its part bringing to the market tools that can help reduce Sodium and increase Potassium in various applications.

Our last addition is Microfine Saltwell Sea Salt. This is a Low-Sodium Sea Salt, with a small particle distribution, and containing naturally 65% Sodium chloride and 30% Potassium chloride.  It can simply be labeled as Sea Salt.

The additional version of Microfine Saltwell Sea Salt is ideal for topical applications such as snacks.
